A Classic Reimagined — Just for You

A shaker style kitchen is based on a traditional style and simply constructed door with a flat panel and no edge detail. We use only hardwood for the frames of the shaker style doors. This combined with a traditional mortise and tenon joint gives what is regarded as one of the strongest and most reliable woodworking joints.

Because everything is bespoke, the width of the outer frame can be reduced or increased to achieve the desired look. Hardwoods we regularly use are Oak, Ash, American Black Walnut and Tulipwood. All our products are pre finished for protection in either a clear lacquer, stained and lacquered or spray painted to a colour of your choice.

The Look & Style

Shaker kitchens are defined by their understated five-piece doors with a recessed centre panel. At Rhodes & Wordsworth, we handcraft each one to suit your home’s character — whether that’s a classic painted finish or a contemporary colour palette.

The Vibe

Approachable, timeless, and practical. Shaker kitchens strike the perfect balance between form and function. Ours are built to order, offering traditional joinery with the freedom to choose every detail, from handles to internal fittings.

People often opt for a shaker, for the following reasons:

  • Completely bespoke — made to your measurements and style
  • Works well with a mix of traditional and modern features
  • Easy to maintain and refresh with new colours or fittings
  • Crafted for daily life and long-term use

A shaker is perfect for the following:

  • Family kitchens that need both beauty and resilience
  • Homes blending period features with modern updates
  • Clients seeking classic design with individual detail
